DREAM

Translated by Akshay Samson

A man had a dream,

With God along the shore — he walks.

On the sand, he sees two couple of footprints,

And the sky shows him his life.

The most difficult time of a man,

One footprint, like the sun, had vanished during the night…

The man asks God, with lowered his eyes

– “My life was discovered for You,

And I have never deceived myself in my heart!

Then why, when the hardships tormented me,

And when the voice of tribulation came to my house,

Your footprints had vanished from the sand? Had I been alone on the road of life?”

And then God answers

— “My child, when you were in trouble,

I took you in my arms,

And your tears wiped my vestments”.
